 Thursday 21st March 2013 - Start Up Britain, Richmond Quiz Night

 

On Thursday night we were joined by friends, Sorrel and David Evans at the Law Library on Chancery Lane to support Helen Roberts and 15 others who are running the Brighton Marathon, in aid of the Childs i Foundation, which is an African charity that reunites abandoned children with their families,instead of sending them to orphanages.  While we did not win the quiz, we did come first by making a paper aeroplane which landed closest to the biggest bottle of Prosecco we have ever seen.  Everyone had such a fun night.  Kim will be blogging about Helen and the charity very soon. 

 Friday 1st February 2013 - Start Up Britain, Richmond

Start Up Britain held an event in Richmond for entrepreneurs, including a 'Dragon's Den' style competition.  Out of 70 entrants we were one of 11 lucky finalists!  Pitching Masters & Harris to a room full of people was terrifying, but we got through it.
 
We did not win the prize, but we got to meet some wonderful people, including fellow entrepreneurs and experts including a lawyer, accountant and marketing expert.
 
The event was run by Soraya Lavery and Helen Roberts, who have been amazing.

Sunday 13th January 2013 - Stuff For Free With West London Waste

We went along to north London to see this event.  Healthy Planet's "Stuff for Free" initiative is a series of giant community reuse events - helping redistribute good quality stuff to a new home, where it will be valued.

 This also helps the environment, as by re-using things instead of throwing them away, it saves landfill space, reduces fly tipping and saves valuable resources.

Friday 11th January 2013 - The Carnabys EP Launch!

The Carnabys launched their new EP at Bush Hall on Friday night.  The event was a sell-out, and their new tracks are brilliant.
 

 

Friday 11th January 2013 - Mary MacLeod's Women's Entrepreneur Event.

On Friday morning Kim went to the Chiswick Busines Park where she met Mary MacLeod MP, and a number of other inspirational women.  The event was to help support people in starting up small businesses. 
 

Wednesday 12th December 2012 - Luxe Box pops up in Richmond for Christmas.

We went to Richmond to see Lucy Heale showcase her new company 'Luxe Box' at the pop-up shop in Richmond, created by Start Up Britain.  We had a glass of wine and a mince pie while we admired Lucy's creation.  For Kim's Metro blog on the event click on the picture of Lucy.
 
 

Saturday 24th November 2012 - The Second Dream On Day!

Saturday 20th September 2012 - M&H at Oxjam Chiswick
